Ms. Calo recognizes that the immigration laws of the U.S. are very complex. Immigrants in the U.S. may find it difficult to understand the laws in their search to comply with them. 

Which is why Ms. Calo is dedicated to helping her clients through the immigration system and achieving their goals.

Highly qualified in immigration law, Ms. Calo brings her knowledge in a wide range of areas to her vast portfolio of clients. She possesses a depth of experience in counseling clients from around the world. While her knowledge and unique problem solving skills apply to all areas of immigration law, she has found great success in deportation defense, family immigration and asylum.

Her knowledge of international legal, regulatory and policy issues allows her to provide clients with strategic advice and effective and efficient immigration solutions to assist them in achieving and maintaining lawful status in the US.

Nationally known for her lecturing and litigation, Ms. Calo is often asked to speak at national seminars, community round tables and by local media. She is also available to consult with and advise criminal defense counsel who represent a foreign-born defendant in criminal court in analyzing immigration law consequences, developing a plea bargain, or anticipating cooperating witness benefits from the Department of Homeland Security.

Ms. Calo lived in Puerto Rico for many years and grew up in New York City before establishing herself and her family in Tampa in 1990. She attended the University of South Florida where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies before going on to complete her Juris Doctor at Stetson College of Law.

Ms. Calo is fluent in Spanish and is also proficient in Portuguese, French/Creole and Italian.

Ms. Calo is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, before the United States Supreme Court, the 11th Circuit United States Circuit Court, United States District Court, Middle District, and has been a Notary Public for the State of Florida since 1996.
